Question Time
Pillaged from pen37, mostly because sometimes these things get me in the mood to wrote. Something has to eventually, right?

Have you ever wanted to ask me a question about one of my fanfics? Here is your chance to ask me anything you want...

What inspired it, what in the world was I was thinking when I wrote it, how do I feel about it now, what do I wish I'd done differently, what would have happened if... etc.

Or you can ask any of the characters from a particular story something you want to know, and get an answer from them.

It can be about absolutely anything in any of my fics (even if it is still a WIP, except for the co-authored ones) and I will tell you the answer. Don’t hold back. I won't *g* Ask about major upcoming plot points if you want to and whatever you ask, I will answer truthfully.

I will warn you in advance if my answer contains a major spoiler and give you a chance to back out. If you then decide that you still want to hear the answer, I'll give it to you.

Think carefully before asking a question. You might not want the answer as badly as you think you do. ;)

Methos. What's your favorite thing you've written about him?
Ith: Methos - Gunithildyn on October 9th, 2009 05:53 pm (UTC)
That one I'm going to have to ponder for a bit. With four different Methos' in different series, and 13 years worth of it at that.... will get back to you :)
Ith: Methos - Lookithildyn on October 10th, 2009 06:27 pm (UTC)
There's actually a few, not surprisingly [g] I like his interaction with children, especially in Fathers Christmas where he bakes cookies with Lucia.

I like exasperated, cynical Methos and his relationship with his wife in parts of Not Without Loss and Cock-Eyed Optimist.

I really like teasing, playful Methos in Amongst the Stars.

And as creepy as it was, I liked writing the evil version of him in I Remember You Not Fondly.

I've been wondering about your Bloodties space futurefic - is there anything about that universe (physics, culture, etc) that's never been made explicit, but that is vital to your understanding of your characters' reality?
Ith: Forever Knight - Foreverithildyn on October 10th, 2009 06:12 pm (UTC)
The first thing that popped into my head was vampire/immortal coexistence as a way to survive after WWIII and then moving on to the colony planet. I know I've mentioned that there are many vampire/immortal pairings/family units on Imladris, but pretty sure I've never really explicitly stated that it's important culturally, and is a large part of Imladrin society.
keerawakeerawa on October 10th, 2009 06:20 pm (UTC)
Thank you, that's interesting!
Ithithildyn on October 10th, 2009 06:28 pm (UTC)
I wasn't sure it made much sense, so that's good :)

Does Tony Stark ever find out that Charlotte's Immortal?
Ithithildyn on October 10th, 2009 06:13 pm (UTC)
Yes [g]

Further details are spoilers, but will share them if you desire.
lizbet0lizbet0 on October 10th, 2009 07:32 pm (UTC)
Hmmm...That's tricky to decide! I love the story lines, so I kinda want to get the details, but you write Tony & Charlotte's interactions so fabulously that I don't want to lose that delight!

How about this? If you think it will be 3 or more months before you get those stories written, then yes, spoil me please! :D Otherwise, I'll wait for the stories themselves, Sound good to you?
Ith: Iron Man - da Vinciithildyn on October 10th, 2009 07:37 pm (UTC)
I hope it won't be, but the way things are going, it probably will.

So, I'll tell you it happens in the sequel to Practical Applications during an assassination attempt on Tony.
lizbet0lizbet0 on October 11th, 2009 07:35 pm (UTC)
Oooh, sounds intriguing! I'll look forward to that!

Y'all have a great weekend!
catyuycatyuy on October 13th, 2009 03:21 am (UTC)
I desire.
I desire greatly.......if you want to tell me.
Ithithildyn on October 13th, 2009 03:46 am (UTC)
Well, I did answer this one already!
I will call her George: Writingstrangevisitor7 on October 11th, 2009 01:02 am (UTC)
I was wondering what was the first time you ever collaborated on a fic. I guess I'm wondering if there was any one before me. (I am the jealous type) and what you wrote together.
Ith: Forever Knight - Foreverithildyn on October 11th, 2009 06:35 am (UTC)
My Bloodties series started as a shared AU. Me, ninjababe, aka_arduinna, otterevil, and yarrow_blue used to hang out on IRC 13 odd years ago and write stories in the channel. We all had characters and you had to let the others do as they wished with said characters and deal with whatever happened in your following story. We started to let other people read them, then we started posting them. Everyone else has moved on to other fandoms, but I still write in the AU.
catyuy: Methos aka Adam Piersoncatyuy on October 13th, 2009 03:27 am (UTC)
Let's see.
Did Charlotte ever meet Darius, Rebecca or Cassandra?
Would you ever write a POTC fic with Charlotte and Methos but also with Jack, Will and Elizabeth?
How does the POTC mythos work with the Immortal being around? ex: does Callisto exist in this verse or any other gods/magical entities?
Any chance of Connor McLeod ever showing up in this verse?
If your Chalotte!verse Methos met Doctor Helm.....how would that turn out?

I'll leave you with these questions.
But be warned, I might return with more at a later date.

Ith: QoS - Montoya Violinithildyn on October 13th, 2009 03:45 am (UTC)
You always have a 1000 questions!

I've never even thought of Darius, so I have no idea. Rebecca, yes. Charlotte met her in China after Jack died, and they are good friends. Charlotte took Ezra to London when he was 12 and they stayed with her. She was also Charlotte's backup plan if Charlotte had been killed before Ezra became immortal. Rebecca kept on eye on Cecily when she was at atr school, and I really want to write the fic when she visits Four Corners and she and Ezra get... close [g] As for Cassandra, nope (unless Casey has another idea).

One of these days I'll write a POTC fic.

Some/most of the supernatural aspects exist. In fact, Jack's compass will make a second appearance in the series soonish.

Connor is in my Bloodties series, so don't foresee him appearing in this, though Casey may have different ideas.

There will be no Dr. Helm meetings LOL But you may meet Isabelle Montoya present day, Charlotte's winemaker. Since San Luis Obispo is in the same area as the fictional Santa Elena :)

Geez! Hope that makes you happy!

But, I don't want to be a pie,: deep thoughtidontlikegravy on October 13th, 2009 11:18 am (UTC)
Is there any character detail about Charlotte that you have in your head/notes that you've not had chance to put into a fic yet?
Ith: My Fic Icons - Charlotte E.P.S Portraitithildyn on October 13th, 2009 06:52 pm (UTC)
That's a hard one, since I can't always remember what makes it onto the actual 'page'.

Hmmm.... she has about a four inch scar diagonally across her ribs from the injury she sustained at sea just before Jack seized her ship.

Charlotte's father made sure she knew how to use weapons/defend herself. Not because she was the son he never had, but because she was the daughter he wanted to keep safe. And the world, especially when they were at sea a great deal, was a very unsafe place.

She's a little vain, and while she's practical when working on the ranch, when she's not, she's very particular about her clothes, hair, etc..

She and Sean Burns were good friends, and I have no idea what her reaction will be when she finds out Duncan killed him.
catyuycatyuy on October 13th, 2009 07:46 pm (UTC)
Evil thought.
What would the other Horsemen have thought of Charlotte?
I also wonder what she would have made of them, especially Silas.
Ithithildyn on October 14th, 2009 08:12 am (UTC)
That one, I have no clue [g] Other than in once instance, and that would be a MAJOR spoiler, so if you want details, you need to sign the disclaimer :)
catyuycatyuy on October 14th, 2009 02:16 pm (UTC)
Where does one sign this disclaimer????
Ithithildyn on October 14th, 2009 07:02 pm (UTC)
Well, I don't want to put it in open comments, so other people are spoiled (if anyone cares) (but better safe and all that) so I can DM you if you like?
catyuycatyuy on October 14th, 2009 10:32 pm (UTC)
I like, I like very much. *huggles*
valihavaliha on October 13th, 2009 08:01 pm (UTC)
I read the Bloodlines overview and it seems like a very interesting universe. If I ever find time to start reading longer stuff again, this will be one of the first things I'll read. I'm familiar enough with Highlander not to get lost, and I've always been interested in vampires. Tying it all with Star Trek makes it even more enticing!
Ith: My Fic Icons - Ith's Ficithildyn on October 14th, 2009 08:11 am (UTC)
I think the Star Trek future worked pretty well as a future for the series. It gave it a nice familiar framework.
