Japan - Autumn Leaves Geisha

'Comes a Horseman' & 'Revelation 6:8'

Welcome to the thirteenth & fourteenth installment of Methos Episode Discussion. You can find the last one, for The Valkyrie here. All prior episode discussion links can be found over on the sidebar.

I have a hunch this one will generate a lot of comments, so I'm going to try and remember to use subject headers for comments to try and make it easier to sort.

Comes a Horseman & Revelation 6:8, Air Date: Feb. 1997

MacLeod knew him as Melvin Koren, a desperado who left a trail of death and fire across the Old West, but Cassandra remembers him as an evil far older. He is Kronos, leader of the Four Horsemen, mounted Bronze Age raiders who murdered, raped, and pillaged their way across two continents. Never was a band of Immortals more cruel or more feared. He destroyed Cassandra's people and she's been hunting him across the millenia. But Kronos has a different target now -- Methos.

One by one, Kronos is putting the Four Horsemen back together. Once they struck fear in the hearts of men with sword and axe. Today, their weapons of destruction are different, but their goal is the same: to bring mankind what it fears most, the Apocalypse. Only Duncan MacLeod stands between them and the end of the world.

Finish One Before Starting Another

I'm working on a fic currently, but out of nowhere comes the urge to write a story with Joe in it. A sequel to Broken Window. Now, I've written Joe before, just not 'vampire' Joe. When I first started writing this series, it was a shared universe I wrote in with half a dozen other people. Part of our 'agreement' was that each of us would abide by whatever story decisions any of the other of us made. So one of our authours had a story line where Joe, due to an accident, became a vampire. I wrote stories, and posted them, based on that premise, but she never actually finished the initial story -- figures! But by then, I was committed to that course, and Joe was a vampire. But I've still never written anything but a mortal Joe, only alluded to his condition in more recent stories, and used it as something for Methos to throw in Triona's face when things aren't good between them. But now I have the urge to remedy that. One more fic for the 'in progresss' pile!

So I'm watching the Kalas episodes, Fitz was just killed, and now I'm up to 'Methos'. All the while, I'm reading Japanese Death Poetry. Do I know how to party, or what?

A bit later: Argh!! Horrible Richie bike racing backstory! But I can't fast forward! I'm supposed to watch the entire third season straight through, right? [pain] [suffering] Back to Death Poetry!

Want To Read Some?

Some of the poetry I've read tonight:

Since time began
the dead alone know peace.
Life is but melting snow.
At last I am leaving:
in rainless skies, a cool moon...
pure is my heart
Tender winds above the snow
melt many kinds
of suffering.
Evening cherry-blossoms:
I slip the inkstone back into my kimono
this one last time.
A bright and pleasant
autumn day to make
death's journey.
