Another 'I'm Sad' post
Doesn't seem like there's any other type lately.

I can't even remember if I mentioned that another pregnant stray showed up on our doorstep. Anyway, three weeks ago, she had four kittens, all gingers like mum. Mamma had a long labour, and she didn't take the umbilical off of three of them, so me and Nin did that. And so everything's been fine since that first crisis, till lat night. There was an accident. I can't type out details or I'll cry again. We thought it was some bad cuts and maybe a sprained leg, so took him to the vet first thing. Turned out he had broken his back. We had to have put to sleep. He didn't even have a name yet. He was so very tiny.

I'm so sorry - but it sounds like? you were able to save the others? and they may not have made it but for your help.

Thank you. Unsorted post. Just the one was hurt, he got stuck under a door, through a gap that hadn't been noticed. I had to use olive oil to get him out, my hands were covered in blood and oil.

that's horrible. but i think it's very likely that they wouldn't have made it without your help, so as awful as it is, you helped the others.

Yeah, they wouldn't have stood much of a chance otherwise.

This is the 6th litter, along with mamas, they we've taken in over the last 5 years, and of all those kittens, we've lost two, so I know we've been extremely fortunate, but like our vet said this morning, no wants to be a statistic. It was all just very traumatic.

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry. It's so heartbreaking.

So sorry,
and wish we could take them in.

I need to get out of the house I'm living in, because it's affecting my peace of mind. The tenant upstairs is destroying the house, and the house is falling apart. (My Dad owns it, that's the kicker) Bad situation, and my Dad thinks I'm going to buy it. No way, right now.

But I've always rescued strays, where ever I could, and I understand.

So sorry to read about this. I hope you can find comfort in the other little lives that you saved.

Oh crap! {{{{Hugs}}}}

We just have to look out for the bunny burrows. I hate cleaning up after one has been "found" by a lawn mower.

That and I can't let the Dachshunds run free in the backyard until I know all the babies are out of their burrows and know how to escape. The dogs do not need to play with live squeaky toys.
