Sitting at work, waiting for a ride home, and pondering the next SHIELD Team 7 story. So, my questions: if a person were half Midgardian half Asgardian , and DNA were run how intensive would the test have to be to raise a flag? I'm thinking there probably already is Asgardian blood on Earth, all those wars and visits... Anyway, I know next to nothing on the subject, and would like the section of the story dealing with it to be at least somewhat plausible.

Other question : does anybody remember Agents of SHIELD giving any sort of time reference to May's 'cavalry' incident? Not sure how long ago it happened.

For $159.95 at DNA Test For Ancestry from National Geographic you can --

• Discover the migration paths your ancient ancestors followed hundreds—even thousands—of years ago, with an unprecedented view of your ancestral journey.
• Learn what percentage of your genome is affiliated with specific regions of the world.
• Find out if you have Neanderthal or Denisovan ancestry.
• Have the opportunity to share your story and connect with other Genographic Project participants, helping us fill in the gaps in the human story.

I'm thinking, if they can tell you whether or not your DNA is 3% Neanderthal for that, they could tell you what percentage Asgardian you where at a lot lower percentage than 50%/50%. Hell, depending on when and how they started screening for Asgardian DNA they might be able to tell you how closely related you are or aren't to Thor and-or Sif, and-or one of the Warriors Three, and-or Loki. Question is when/how they built their "Asgardian" genome.

Sadly I don't remember if Agents of SHIELD has given any sort of time reference to May's 'cavalry' incident. :(

ETA: Didn't think to mention that, if we are talking about someone who is 50%/50%--"if a person were half Midgardian half Asgardian," while the Asgardians might be getting treated as aliens rather than gods in the MCU, that would still be at a level that is "demi-god" status, and not only should it be readily detectible if there are clear genetic differences between Midgardian and Asgardian it should also mean the Asgardian half gives the individual super powers.

References to cavalry incident were in S09 'Repairs', but I don't remember if the time frame was mentioned:(.

After a handful of cop shows:), I'll find plausible if fairly common DNA test would reveal a 'most likely alien' anomaly. And if they have any samples from Thor...

Question is are we talking about an average cop show DNA test or a SHIELD one? One of the points to SHIELD, even in the MCU as supposed to the comic books, is that they have advanced technology from the average cop show. Course the MCU has yet to show any sign of SHIELD having to deal with Skrull, Kree, or any number of other standard Marvel comic book alien races. Still, if they got DNA from everyone of the "not of Midgard in origin" characters that have traveled to Midgard in the Thor related films they'd not only have Aesir from Thor (and presumably Sif, Fandral and Volstagg), but Vanir from Hogun (it was established in Thor 2 he's from Vanaheim, not Asgard), and Jotun from Loki.

...a 'most likely alien' anomaly.

Of course that's assuming that the various beings from the other eight realms in the Nine Realms governed by the Aesir are different from Midgardians in a way that shows up genetically. While they certainly have abilities that aren't exhibited by the average Midgardian, mutants (which apparently are in some gray area between FOX and Marvel currently) are only supposed to be different from average humans by a genetic x-factor.
