Time
I was making dinner last night, and found myself looking for Iona. She was always there at my elbow, wanting to taste whatever was cooking, especially if it had smelly cheese. She was my cat, after all. Then I remembered she was gone, and would never be there to to sample my cooking ever again.

I'm so sorry. I remember when we lost Midnight. Jerry got up the next morning and opened a can of food.

She's there, just not in corporal form. I firmly believe our fur kids are all still around, lounging on windowsills and getting underfoot after they pass on. We just don't see them as clearly.

(((hugs)))

Pets are like that. So many people say it's just a pet or whatever, but they are always there. Shows how important the small stuff is. I still keep thinking the dogs are just going to run in any moment and I can't eat a banana without waiting for Kaelie to show up. But that's what makes them so wondeful.

Happy Birthday anyway lady. May the small things get you through.

*hugs* Believe it or not, but I even got emotional about a tree I did not want to lose or see murdered. Nothing wrong about feeling the loss like that.

Little shadow cats. My Fred has been gone a couple of weeks and I still expect to hear his paws (and his holler) when I come in the front door. ;(
