Why?
According to this BBC America has acquired the rights air Battlestar Galactica. Makes about as much sense as them airing STTNG. Why they don't air more actual shows from the UK that we don't see here, is beyond me. Like say, I don't know, Holby City?? Maybe they need to change the name of the station to BBC America Some of the Time.

They do this kind of stuff all the time. I'm always perplexed by it. A couple years ago they aired season 2 of Dancing with the Stars. *sigh* It would have made more sense if they had aired Strictly Come Dancing.

When I think of all the Brit TV they could be airing [sigh]

If there is even one British actor in the cast, they do that. It's why they show TNG--because of Patrick Stewart.

Yeah, I know, but it's still silly [g] I suppose we can look forward to House repeats, Grey's Anatomy, and Hell's Kitchen next.

I thought they already showed Hell's Kitchen, actually. Or at least a similar show, with a chef that screams profanity at various people. I've caught a minute of whatever it was on occasion, when it's before Top Gear.

Batman! They're running effing BATMAN! The 1989 version. I'd say they were using Michael Gough as an excuse, except for the part where he didn't appear once in the promo.

I expect their excuse for BSG is primarily Jamie Bamber (since I think L&O UK did pretty well for them recently) and secondarily James Callis. But still, at this rate, they'll need to change their name to "What The Sci-Fi Channel Was Before There Was Wrestling And Then A Stupid Rebranding."

Heh! I was thinking it like SciFi retro or something. Guess they could show Atlantis, oh, and Forever Knight, and Highlander!

They should get the shows that spawned US ripoffs. :D

Speaking of ripoffs, I hope the US version of Top Gear is dead and buried.
